The Positives Vibes Hop - Altered Art - Vidhi Jadeja

January 01, 2019

Hi,
Hello friends! I am Vidhi Jadeja. Welcome to The Positive Vibes Hop. The Purpose of our blog hop is to start the new year on a colourful and creative note, spread positivity and good vibes. We hope you will enjoy the mix media projects and pictorials we have prepared.

I have created a Mix media project " DO WHAT YOU LOVE " an altered art pallet and brush!
ART gives me immense happiness, satisfaction and confidence to live my life positively. It completes me. So I want to continue this journey for further... Without colours, art pallet and brush, it is not possible to do what I love so I am taking my good old memories of last year for the Positive new year with an altered Art pallet and brush !!!

Pictorial Process of altered art Pallet :

1) The first step is always to select your object which inspired you to create and alter. Here I selected my used Art Pallet and Brush.

2) The second step is to add textures and decide a Focal point of an object. Here I added textures with the help of Finnabair stencil and Itsy Bitsy's Grainy texture paste. Added Mudra's Chipzeb and Scrapiniec chipboards and stick them with Itsy Bitsy's heavy gel. I decided to use an old art brush, metal wings and kitchen utensil as my focal point and decide their placement and glued it.

3) The third step is to prime the base. It is always good to prime the base with gesso so it holds any further mediums or colours. I primed my art pallet and all elements with Finnabair's black gesso. I have to repeat this step one or two times more may be as I am creating layers with chipboards and embellishments.

I added Rainbow Craftykari's MDF tiles, Dusty attic and 2 crafty's chipboards, Mudra's floral chipzeb and some old nails. Again primed that layer with black gesso.

After that layer again I added and glued some metal embellishments from I craft and some from a local market to create more depth. Primed this layer also with black gesso so that it holds the colour perfectly.

4) The fourth step is to highlight all the elements. I used Finnabair's white gesso to do dry brushing. I just took little colour on top of the brush and gently applied on surfaces.

5) The fifth step is to add colours. I used Tim Holtz Distress spray stain ( Rusty Hinge and Evergreen bough), Lindy's (Long john's silver and Cactus gold)as my first layer of colours. I completely dried this layer before applying further colours on it.

After that layer, I applied Finnabair's Opal magic paints and Sparks paints to highlight some area. And as the final layer of colours, I applied Finnabair's Rust paste and Patina paste randomly on the elements where I want some vintage and rustic look.

6) The sixth step is to add more and more textures. I used cheesecloth, Finnabair's Art stones( mini and mega ) and Micro beads ( Copper and Bronze) to create more depth and applied same colours on it to go with the remaining elements.

7) The seventh step is to final touch up. I used Finnabair waxes to highlight some elements. It adds more shine to the elements. Finnabair spark paint creates magic too, it gives shimmer on the project. I just love these paints. In some areas, I dry brushing the elements with the help of white gesso.

 8) The eighth and final step is to add a tagline and flowers. I used Tim Holtz word tile and Prima's flowers to enhance my project. And its done !!! Hope you guys enjoyed the process.
